The Bobcat Rank
This is the very first rank that all Cub Scouts earn. The Bobcat rank teaches new Cub Scouts:
The Cub Scout Promise
"I, (say your name), promise to do my best
To do my duty to God and my country,
To help other people, and
To obey the Law of the Pack."
THE LAW OF THE PACK- and its meaning.
"The Cub Scout follows Akela.
The Cub Scout helps the Pack go.
The Pack helps the Cub Scout Grow.
The Cub Scout gives goodwill."
THE MEANING OF THE WORD "WEBELOS" "WEll BE LOyal Scouts"
THE CUB SCOUT SIGN - and its meaning.
SHOW THE CUB SCOUT HANDSHAKE - and tell what it means.
THE CUB SCOUT MOTTO: "Do Your Best"
GIVE THE CUB SCOUT SALUTE - and tell what it means.
When the Cub Scout has learned and been tested on these items he has earned the Bobcat Rank! "Congratulations!"
Next he will begin to work on the achievements of the Den that he qualifies for:
It's never too late to join Scouting! Even a fifth grader will be able to earn his Webelos Badge, and if he works super hard, perhaps even his Arrow of Light Award.
Prepared. For Life.
