Cub Scout Den Leaders come in two varieties - Wolf Den Leaders and Bear Den Leaders.
Cub Scout Den Leaders need to complete "This is Scouting!", "Cub Scout Leader Position-Specific Training", and "Youth Protection Certification" to be fully trained in their position. All of these are offered as both in classroom and online course formats.
Once you are "Trained" you are elgible to earn the Cub Scout Den Leader Square Knot. It takes only one year of service. To learn more about this award and download your Progress Record, click here .
Cub Scout Den Leaders should always "Do Their Best" to attend training events with another from their den. This is for three reasons: 1. To practice the Buddy System - one of the Methods of Scouting we teach our Scouts. 2. Because it increases your learning and recall; and 3. Besides doing stuff with a friend is always more fun.
